Demi-Sec

Pronunciation: DEM-ee SEK

Short definition

A sparkling wine label indicating a noticeably sweet style, with 32–50 grams of sugar per liter.

Demi-Sec translates to "half-dry," but make no mistake — these wines are decidedly sweet. A Demi-Sec Champagne or Vouvray has enough sugar to stand up to pastry, fruit tarts, and blue cheese. Veuve Clicquot and Moët both make Demi-Sec bottlings specifically for dessert pairing. If you think you do not like sweet wine, try a good Demi-Sec Vouvray — it might change your mind.
